Today Is The Day

Today is the day we Christians celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

Unfortunately, all too many of us buy into the materialistic secular stuff and forget the reason for the season.

Now, there is nothing wrong with a secular Christmas celebration -- if you're not a Christian. After all, a party is a party is a party.

But if you're a practicing Christian, whatever day you choose to celebrate the birth of Jesus should be just that, a celebration of Jesus.

Yes, a celebration of Jesus, of family, of love. Gifts are good, yes, but they should be gifts of love, not just the flavor of the week "stuff" that's broken, returned, or regifted within days.

Christmas, at the heart of Christianity, isn't about buying out the mall...

It's not about money...

It's not about me, me, me...

It's not about what the world thinks...

It's all about Jesus.

Today is the day that leads straight to our Salvation.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

(Technically, yes, December 25th was probably not His birthday. Jesus was actually probably born in the fall, after the harvest. But we celebrate it in Faith as a representation of His day. The most important day in the Christian calendar is the day of our Salvation, Easter Sunday...)
