Let It Be According To Your Will

Last weekend, my Pastor was praying over the issue of homosexual marriage. He was praying against the implementation of marriage between same sex couples.

As you know, I think that same sex marriage is OK.

How do I reconcile my beliefs with my Pastor and church's beliefs?

Like Obama, I'm not going to change my church over a prayer that doesn't necessarily reflect my personal beliefs about certain issues.

Why should I? While my church is more conservative than I am, who says that's a bad thing? Pastors are SUPPOSED to teach us, lead us, help us follow God's Word. Even when we don't necessarily quite believe in exactly what Pastor is teaching.

So what do I do when these conflicts arise?

I pray, along with my church, in fervent prayer.

My prayer is, "Let it all be according to Your Will."

I then leave it all in His most capable Hands.

Yes, not everyone at my church agrees with my personal beliefs regarding this issue. I'm quite sure that there are many things that I hold near and dear that they don't believe in. As well as the reverse.

Unlike some of my brothers and sisters in Christ, I do my best to leave it in the Lord's hands. Maybe you think it's wishy-washy. However, I think of it as doing what God commanded me to do, submit my will and give it all to Him.

So that's what I try to do.

"Let it all be according to Your Will."
